The bossman, Topher, takes the geek experience to the next level yet again by planning a team building weekend, full of fun activities for our hardworking team here at xiik! Now, we aren’t just talking the Indianapolis office either. We’re flying in folks from as far as Los Angeles. Team building, of course, is important to growing a healthy company and we all look forward to this weekend as a great experience to remember.
Since the Geek Bar transformation is going even better than planned (more to come later), we have decided to host some of the festivities here on Friday night to kick off the weekend. Good thing our new office can easily hold the xiik staff and leave room for obnoxiously acting out Scattergories. Let’s hear it for bonding through board games and pizza! Since we’re on the topic of board games, I am practically obligated to ask if you have ever played Balderdash. By far one of the most fun games out there! But I digress…
So, whereas Friday is an ice breaker for the new guys to meet some of the geeks they haven’t seen yet, Saturday is where it gets even better: Topher has signed us up to do the SPICE Challenge, a series of physical challenges that let you collaborate with your group and problem solve all while having a lot of fun. Sounds like my kind of thing! It doesn’t end there. This year, the SPICE Program added an extra activity called the Zip Line Canopy Tour, which is a 1.5 hour tour through treetops, giving us thrill-seekers and nature lovers the perfect adventure.
I’ve already been thinking about the next xiik retreat. Unfortunately, Topher doesn’t seem too convinced that flying the company to Rome to fight gladiator style in the Coliseum is really in our budget. I’ll keep working on it though.
